the lights are on

but nobody's home
the elevator doesn't go to the top
i'm not playin' with a full deck
i've lost my marbles....

this was a light at the park.. I have no idea why only one was lit, but I thought it looked interesting. Also, I love the cloudy sky.

=)

Happy New Year to all!!!!

the view from my bench.

This is what I see when I sit on the bench at what we call the P Street Park. In the distance you can see the Cairo Apartment building.

12th & Eye Street NW almost ready for occupants!

This is one of the first bits of construction here in DC that prompted me to take note of just how much is being built up around me. I now stop to take notice of cranes, hard hats, dilapidated buildings... among other things ;)

It was a nice surprise to see this one in such a complete state. I hope to see it occupied soon!

Cherry Blossoms in NW DC

This was the first tree on which I spotted blossoms last year, as well as this year. I'm still waiting for some snow so that I can share more frozen blossoms!

yellow & orange

This is a charter school. The students that go there get to explore their creative sides with their learning. It is near the Faragut North Metro stop. When we were just figuring our way around the neighborhood, we used it for direction. We leave the metro and walk toward the bright building when we want to go home. =)

perched atop the little & old building

I love little details such as this. There were three of these shabby stars on the ramshackle house.
