a bit of blue

I had big plans today, but alas, the germs that be decided to take over my kids' bodies and so I'm stuck inside on what looks like a wonderfully spring-like day. This picture is a wider angle of the twisted branches I posted earlier.

I like the reflected sky.

Growing outside of the National Gallery of Art, east wing, twisted and tangled, waiting to bloom.

Little Houses on the Mall

There is a little garden next to the Smithsonian Castle. It is on the Capital side (rather than the Washington Monument side.)
I saw these little houses and wanted to share them with you all. I wonder if they will find residents in the coming months!

the bigger picture

This is the needle which marks the mall side entrance to the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum. This is also the bigger picture of yesterday's reflection! We have been to this museum countless times in the last year and a half. Friday we took our first tour. We learned that the Air & Space Museum is the second most visited tourist attraction in the world. Can you guess the first?
