Mural at Walter Pierce Park

This park is located in Adams Morgan and is quite popular with my kids because we walk past Sticky Fingers Bakery on the way home! It is also nice in that it has lots of shade over the playground equipment, a must in the heat of DC. This park has a soccer/ football field, basketball hoops, dog park, and playground (with swings ~ a make or break piece of playground equipment, or so I am told by my eight year old.)

That's a very inviting wall - the greenery framing the art on the wall . . . very nice. Topping off the delight, of course, is the bakery near by. What's not to like?

;) I like how you think, Annie!

I will have to take another picture later this year after the leaves have changed. ... and of course, make another trip to Sticky Fingers!!!

A rare photo, indeed. Usually, that spot is not very kid friendly, and the mural is blocked by a massive crowd of basketball-playing dudes, leaving trash strewn everywhere, cursing loudly and smoking dope. But if you think of it another way, you kids could learn quite a lot of vocab from going there!

When the dudes are out, we stick to the playground. It's away from the 'action' and we steer clear of the dope smoking trash makin' (and talkin') fools ;)

That's nice, people and nature are working together to create an amazing piece of art. :-)
