kilroy was here!


There are many legends regarding the origin of the phrase and doodle "Kilroy was here." We found this one stamped on the World War II Monument.

Kilroy is over on the side of the monument near freedom wall with the stars & fountain. It's kind of hidden. There is a spot that looks almost like a service entrance or something on either side of the water outside of the monument on the reflecting pool side. I'll try to take better shots of that because I don't know how helpful that explanation really is....

I am the mother of the stonecarver that carved Kilroy onto the WWII. It's a fun thing to find, and yes-it is very well hidden.
