Sweet Reflections

The think I like most about this shot that it shares with you a small glimpse of our well-loved books. Probably the comment most heard from visitors to our home is something along the lines of, "You have a lot of books!" Before our last move, the moving company had the audacity to suggest that we might want to get rid of a few before the packers came. NEVER! ;)

We have lots of books too. We do get rid of a few here and there, but we have more books than room on the shelves. =)

We pass our books along to family and friends. Barns and Nobel smiles when they see us coming in to the store.

I moved from a townhouse to an apartment a year ago. I got rid of two or three hundred books (and brought more than that with me). There are some you'll most likely never want to read again -- but if you do, you can always go to the Library or buy them over again. Hanging onto them for the sake of it makes no sense to me any more. But then I am a Zen Buddhist and the whole thing I strive for (with mixed success) is letting go.

I've actually tried to part with some books but which do you choose? I can never decide so I just keep them at my mothers house haha she gets to read them so I have more room in my house

our books are key to the education, and enjoyment of our children, and ourselves. We also share them with those around us, and when they've passed their point of need, we also pass them on to those in need. Right now, almost all of our newly purchased books come from the library book store, where all the money for sales goes for buying books for the library shelves... which we also rely on heavily! =)

Seeing my kids with a book in hand makes my heart happy!

We have been told by a few movers that we are 'unusual' in that we have so much books and no clothes. We DO have clothes... just not interesting ones.
