little houses
in Georgetown, across from the Francis Scott Key Bridge.
I thought it was funny how they look exactly the same.

Francis Scott Key Memorial
On the Georgetown side of the Francis Scott Key Memorial Bridge has a lovely little spot for sitting. This is part of that area. In a few weeks it will really be stunning.

next to the Washington Post Building
I was surprised that I hadn't already posted a picture of this building that is going up next to the Washington Post. I was going to link to it! I have posted others of the crane, as well as urban art in front of this construction. I'll search through my files and find some pre construction photos to post. I wonder how long it will take for this building to be completed.

stumbling upon wonderful things!
A few weeks back, I was walking home from Georgetown with my family. We like to cross the P street Bridge and walk home through Dupont Circle. There is always a lot to see and we prefer it to the M street bridge. This particular Sunday there was a 'Friends of Rose Park' party. My daughter (always a fan of face painting) was thrilled to participate.
There was food, fun, and activities for the whole family. They even had a little dog show planned with such categories as "dog who looks most like his owner" and "most interesting mix".. and " best tail"
I love to stumble upon such fun everyday things.

blooming right until the end
I realize summer is well over, and we are in the midst of Autumn... But I'm not sure the weather here has had the same realization.... until today.
We've had temperatures in the low eighties followed by mid sixties... Last night it dipped down to forty one... It's fifty five right now and beautiful!
Is fall here, at last?

looking through her eyes
Today we went to the little park not far from our apartment. My daughter really likes it because it has swings! Today she was disappointed and ready to leave. I could tell she was a little sad, so I asked her if she would like to take some pictures first. That is always a pick-me-up for either of us! This picture was one that she took today. I wish you could all see the image I have of her in my mind's eye. She crouched down and looked through the fence to get this one. I'm lucky to be able to see this beautiful shot and enjoy the memory behind it.
