I've been so busy enjoying the new man in my life, I've neglected to give him a proper introduction.

Please welcome Henri David. He was born at home last Thursday evening. Daddy caught him, big sister proclaimed "he's a Henri!", big brother is happy to have a little brother.



I'm simply in love.

perfect day for sketching

Here's my little girl and her daddy , both doing what they love to do! On this day they are sitting on a stone wall above the C&O Canal
in Georgetown, enjoying the first really perfect-weather, beautiful day of the September Season. (my daughter informed me that September was just taking it's time figuring out how to be) I was sitting behind them both, knitting a baby booty for the soon to be newest member of our family. I looked up couldn't help but take this picture.

By the steps of the Smithsonian American Art Museum. This is the entrance that faces the Spy Museum.

The shoes belong to my baby boy (now 11). I've always been drawn to his feet. Watching them grow from cute little cherub feet to what is now encased in these huge shoes. The other day he looked at my feet and said, "you have such tiny feet, Mommy!"
